This report �?Collating examples of policies, institutions and stakeholders involved in managing the risks of zoonoses', was commissioned to assist researchers submitting proposals to DFID, and the reviewers of the proposals by developing a meta-database of information resources, supported by a report, which focus on key researchable issues in this topic.

A strong surge in international food prices that began in the first quarter of 2008 affected a large range of commodities including staple crops such as maize. Governments??? responses to the food crisis range from short-term measures including forms of price controls, trade restrictions and food security stocks to facilitating longer-term supply side increase in production capacity.

This website provides examples of policies, institutions and stakeholders involved in the management of zoonoses, collated in a meta-database, together with discussion of cross-cutting themes (Health systems strengthening research; Livestock value chains and zoonoses; Ecosystems, natural resource management and livestock production systems and their relationship with zoonoses; Sustainable management of endemic zoonoses; and Management of zoonotic disease emergencies) and case studies to illustrate potential approaches.
